    Alberto Lucas Albuquerque da Costa Trigo

    Alberto L. A. da Costa Trigo holds a Masters Degree in Procedural Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (February, 2019) and has obtained a law degree at the same university (December, 2015). Alberto mainly works in the area of litigation. He has experience in domestic and international litigation, and he has acted in arbitration proceedings involving leading arbitration centers.

    Alberto is the author of “Covenant not to sue and not to request: a pactum de non petendo reinterpretation”, book published by JusPodivm; “Signaling in the overruling of a precedent”, published in Revista de Processo, vol. 276; “Partial pactum de non petendo”, published in Revista de Processo, vol. 280; “Medidas anti-processo, anti-suit injunctions e julgamento do conflito de competência nº 151.130”, published in Conjur; and “Breves notas sobre o controle das decisões informadas por algoritmos”, published in “O Direito Civil na era da inteligência artificial” by Editora Revista dos Tribunais.

    He is also Executive Editor of the Civil Procedure Review, Member of the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law (“Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Processual – IBDP”), Member of the Brazilian Committee of Arbitration (“Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem – CBAr), Member of the Civil Procedure Studies Committee of Rio de Janeiro State Bar Association (“Comissão de Estudos em Processo Civil da OAB/RJ”), and Visiting Professor of “Escola Superior da Advocacia” and of “Centro de Estudos e Pesquisas no Ensino do Direito da UERJ”.

    He is fluent in English and French. Alberto has intermediate knowledge of German.

    Alessandro Ayres

    Alessandro Ayres has an undergraduate degree in law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro’s National Law School and a master’s in civil procedural law from Cândido Mendes University. He has worked at Fux Advogados, in the law firm’s strategic litigation (civil, administrative and regulatory) and arbitration areas, since 2012.

    Anna Beatriz Vianna

    Anna Beatriz Vianna obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Pontificial Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro - PUC-Rio) in December 2020. Her main practice area is litigation, including a vast experience with domestic conflicts regarding a variety of subjects.

    Before practicing law at Fux Advogados, Anna Beatriz worked at Ferro, Castro Neves, Daltro e Gomide Advogados (2017-2021).

    A graduate of the National Law Faculty at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, specialist in Tax Accounting at the Brazilian Association of Financial Law and a postgraduate in Tax Law at the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies, Ariel Möller has been a member of the Fux Advogados team since 2013.

    Bruno Costa

    Bruno Costa focuses on Strategic Litigation (Civil, Administrative and Corporate) at Fux Advogados. His professional experience includes over 10 years representing clients in commercial and corporate disputes in Strategic Litigation in Sergio Bermudes Advogados (2007-2014) and Bruno Calfat Advogados (2014-2019) before joining Fux Advogados.

    Bruno is currently attending Master’s Degree in Civil Law at the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), holds a Masters in Law (LL.M.) in Innovation and Technology at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/RJ) in 2021 and graduated in Law from the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ).

    Daniel Coelho

    Mr. Coelho focuses his practice in Arbitration, Litigation, and Government & Regulatory Law. He regularly appears as an advocate and arbitrator before international and domestic arbitral tribunals under the rules of various arbitration institutions in Brazil and abroad

    Mr. Coelho has an extensive experience arguing cases before the state and federal courts including the Brazilian higher courts, and the Brazilian administrative agencies.

    Mr. Coelho served as the head of Litigation and Arbitration for Veirano Advogados (2012-2016). After more than 17 years with Veirano Advogados, he left the firm to join Fux Advogados in May 2016.

    Mr. Coelho graduated from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), 1997, and holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), 2008.

    Mr. Coelho is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem (CBAr).

    David González graduated in Law from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, holds a post-graduate degree in Civil Procedural Law from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and focuses his practice in Civil and Business Litigation, Bankruptcy and Court-Supervised Reorganization Proceedings, and Arbitration.

    Before joining Fux Lawyers in 2014, David González served Motta Fernandes Lawyers (2010-2011) and Rosman, Penalva, Souza Leão, Franco Lawyers (2011-2014). Languages: English, French and Spanish.

    Felipe Loureiro graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO) in December 2012 and is currently as post-graduate student at the Commercial Arbitration and Consensual Methods of Conflict Resolution at PUC-RIO. Felipe works predominantly in the area of litigation where he has both national and international experience, as well as arbitration proceedings before the main arbitration chambers.

    Guilherme França Barros

    Guilherme França Barros obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro - PUC-Rio) in August 2008, and concluded a post-graduate course in Civil Procedural Law at the same institution in December 2010. Mr. Barros holds a Masters Degree in Law (LL.M.) from Columbia University (USA), May 2011.

    Mr. Barros focuses on litigation and arbitration, has a vast experience in national and international litigation, as well as in arbitral proceedings under the rules of the most prestigious institutions in Brazil and abroad.

    Before joining Fux Advogados, Mr. Barros served in Veirano Advogados (2011-2016), Basilio Advogados (2009-2010), and Andrade & Fichtner Advogados (2004-2008).

    Mr. Barros is a member of the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law, of the ICC - International Chamber of Commerce, and of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem - CBAr).

    Karina Postimo Truta

    Karina Postimo Truta graduated in Law from the Rio de Janeiro State University in December 2019 and is currently attending LL.M. in corporate and capital market law at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/RJ). She mainly works in the area of litigation. She has experience in national and international litigation, on the most various subjects, besides working on arbitration proceedings in major arbitration courts. She also works on drafting and reviewing contracts and general business deals for companies.

  • Leonel Pittzer

    Leonel Pittzer

    Leonel Pittzer is the partner responsible for the law firm’s tax area.

    Pittzer has an undergraduate degree in law from Rio de Janeiro Federal University, a specialist diploma in tax procedural law from Cândido Mendes University, a specialist diploma in accounting from Fundação Getulio Vargas and an MA in tax law from the Brazilian Tax Studies Institute. He is currently doing an MA in public finance, tax and development at Rio de Janeiro State University.

    He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association’s Tax Affairs Commission, a guest professor at the Center for Economic Law Studies and a speaker.

    He has almost 15 years of experience in highly complex tax litigation (administrative and judicial), focusing on cash-in strategies and strategic tax solutions.

    He joined with Rodrigo Fux to found Escritório Fux Advogados in 2009.

    Marcela Maffei Quadra Travassos

    Marcela Maffei is a lawyer in the Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice area. She mainly works on complex corporate disputes in judicial and arbitration cases, real estate and civil law issues in general, and Business Reorganization and Insolvency. Marcela´s professional experience includes working at Law Firms Wellington Moreira Pimentel, Campos Mello Advogados, Andrade & Fichtner and Barbosa Müssnich Aragão, where she remained for seven years before joining Fux Advogados as a partner in September 2016.

    Marcela Maffei has an undergraduate Law degree (2001) and a Master’s degree in Civil Law (2013) from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Member of the Arbitration Committee of Rio de Janeiro section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-RJ), in the triennium 2019-2021. She is a is a member of the Business Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (2013-2015 and 2016-2018 and 2019-2021 periods), of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem - CBAr) and the Board of Referees of civil law journal Civilistica.com (A1 Qualis rating).

    Marcela Maffei is a Professor on the Fundação Getulio Vargas Rio de Janeiro Law School’s (FGV Direito-Rio) at the LL.M Corporate Law course (since 2011), a Professor of Business Law on Continuing Education Program of CEPED/UERJ (since 2006), and a Professor of Business Law, Bankruptcy, Business Reorganization and Insolvency at Escola da Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - EMERJ (since 2003).

    Marcelo Sobral Pinto

    Marcelo Sobral Pinto obtained a Law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO)in December 2013. He has since focused on the litigation area and gained experience of both domestic and international litigation. He has also worked on arbitration proceedings at Brazil’s main arbitration chambers.

    Before joining Fux Advogados, Marcelo worked at law firm Sergio Bermudes Advogados from 2010 to 2020.

    Maria Eduarda Aquino

    Maria Eduarda Aquino graduated in law from Rio de Janeiro State University in December 2019. She has focused on litigation, gaining experience of both domestic and international litigation concerning a wide range of topics. She has also worked on arbitration proceedings at Brazil’s main arbitration chambers.

    She has worked at law firms Barroso Fontelles, Barcellos, Mendonça & Associados and Fux Advogados.

    Maria Proença Marinho

    Maria Proença Marinho obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro - PUC- Rio) in December 2013. She holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Civil-Constitutional Law, 2015, and a Masters Degree in Civil Law, February 2019, both from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ).

    Maria focuses on litigation and arbitration and has extensive experience in national and international litigation, as well as in arbitral proceedings under the rules of the most prestigious institutions in Brazil and abroad.

    She is the author of the book “Frustration of Purpose” (Frustração do Fim do Contrato), published by Editora Foco in 2020, as well as of various legal articles in the area of civil law. Maria is a Professor of the Post-Graduate course on Contracts at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro - PUC- Rio) and is the Cultural Director of the Rio de Janeiro Section of the Brazilian Institute of Contractual Law (Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Contratual – IBDCont).

    Before joining Fux Advogados, she worked at Andrade & Fichtner Advogados (2011- 2019) and Mannheimer, Perez e Lyra Advogados (2019-2020).

    Mateus Carvalho

    Mateus Carvalho earned his Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and is currently attending LLM in Infrastructure and Regulation at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/RJ). Mateus focuses on Strategic Litigation (Civil, Administrative and Regulatory) and Arbitration at Fux Advogados.

    His professional experience in these areas began in 2009, and includes working in strategic litigation at a prestigious law firm. Carvalho was also a member of the Comissão dos Juizados Especiais Estaduais (Committee on Special State Courts) of the Conselho Seccional do Estado do Rio de Janeiro da OAB/RJ (the State Sectional Board of the Brazilian Bar Association's Rio de Janeiro Chapter ) from 2013 to 2015.

    Pedro Hassan

    Pedro Hassan has an undergraduate law degree from Rio de Janeiro Catholic University, a specialist diploma in civil law and procedure from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio and a master’s in civil procedural law from Cândido Mendes University, also in Rio.

    He is currently doing two other master’s degrees, in civil procedural law at Rio de Janeiro State University.

    He joined Fux Advogados in 2018, and since then, he has worked in the strategic litigation area (civil, administrative and regulatory).

    Rachel Delvecchio

    Rachel has experience in tax litigation and advice. Before joining Fux Advogados, she has worked at law firm Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown LLP from 2012 to 2020. Rachel is currently doing a master’s in public finance, tax and development at Rio de Janeiro State University. She has a specialist diploma in tax law and tax accounting from IBMEC and her law degree from Fluminense Federal University.

    He has mainly worked in the areas of civil litigation and arbitration, and he has extensive experience of domestic and international litigation covering a variety of subjects.

  • Rodrigo Fux

    Rodrigo Fux

    Rodrigo Fux is a specialist in highly complex litigation. He is one of the most admired lawyers in Brazil by the country’s 500 biggest companies. He is a partner in Fux Advogados’ Litigation and Arbitration areas. He has a master’s in procedural law from Rio de Janeiro State University and he is currently doing a PhD there.

    Fux is a guest professor at the Rio de Janeiro State School of Magistrates (EMERJ) and the coordinator of its “Economic Analysis of Procedural Law” course, which has been taught at various courts of appeal across Brazil. He has given speeches at many conferences in Brazil and other countries (including at the University of London, Nova University in Lisbon and Fordham University, New York) on subjects related to civil procedures, alternative conflict resolution methods, arbitration and economic analysis of law. He is the deputy director of the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law (IBDP) and a member of the panel of arbitrators of the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA).

    He has also served as judge-auditor on the Fourth Disciplinary Commission of the Superior Court of Sports Law and assistant professor of graduate studies at the Fundação Getulio Vargas Rio de Janeiro Law School.

    His professional experience includes significant periods at law firms Sérgio Bermudes and Veirano Advogados, until he partnered with Leonel Pittzer and founded Fux Advogados.

  • Tatiana Junger

    Tatiana Junger

    Tatiana Junger holds an Undergraduate’s degree in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (2017) and a Master's degree in Public Finance, Taxation and Development from the Postgraduate Program in Law at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGD/UERJ) (2019). Currently, she has a PhD in progress at the same institution.

    She is a founding partner and professor at the online educational institution Tributário em Jogo. She is also a Tax law professor in the Postgraduate programs from CEPED/UERJ and IBMEC/Rio.

    She is the author of the book "Tax Reform", published by LumenJuris in 2020. She is also the author and co-author of several academic papers regarding tax law, such as "The conflict of jurisdiction involving ICMS on the import of goods (ARE 665134)" published in the Quarterly Magazine of PJT, “Tax responsibility of economic groups” in the Forum of Tax Law Magazine, “Tax repercussions of ‘pejotização’ [the questionable interposition of a legal entity]” in the collection “Critical analysis of CARF's jurisprudence”, “The MMX case and the application of the sole paragraph of article 116 of the CTN by CSRF" in the collection "Tax planning from the CARF’s perspective", "Taxation, social media and big data" in the collection "Taxation of the digital economy" and "Tax planning from CARF’s perspectiva: the act of disregard and the evolution of its motivation in the federal administrative jurisprudence” in the collection “Tax planning: concrete limits and challenges”.

    Her professional experience includes the law firms Renault Advogados and Ricardo Lodi Advogados.

    She is fluent in English and German, certified respectively by Cambridge University and Leipzig University, and has intermediate knowledge of Spanish.

    Tatiana Rodriguez graduated in Law from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais – IBMEC-RIO in December 2019 and is currently as post-graduate student at the Procedural Law at UERJ. Tatiana works predominantly in the area of litigation where she has experience in business, civil and real estate disputes in the judiciary.

    Her professional experience includes time at the offices of Sergio Bermudes Advogados and Barroso Fontelles, Barcellos e Mendonça Advogados Associados.

    Thiago Sbano

    Thiago Sbano graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro’s National Law School in 2013, got a master’s in civil and constitutional law from Rio de Janeiro State University in 2015, obtained a specialist diploma in corporate and capital market law from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in 2018 and is currently attending Master in Business Law at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/SP).

    He joined Fux Advogados in 2013, and since then he has worked in the law firm’s strategic litigation (civil, administrative and corporate) and arbitration areas.

    Vanessa Perlingeiro

    Vanessa Perlingeiro holds a law degree from the Fluminense Federal University – “UFF” (2018). She is currently taking a postgraduate course in tax law at the Brazilian Institute for Tax Studies – “IBET”.

    Her experience with tax law started at the law firm Veirano Advogados. She also worked as an intern and, later, as a lawyer at Seabra Fagundes Ferraz Mannino Espírito Santo Advogados.

    She is fluent in English, with certified proficiency by the University of Cambridge.
